Physical Therapist, Rehab Mercy Hospital is a not-for-profit hospital and is currently looking a Full Time Physical Therapist with experience or brand new graduates. The Physical Therapist plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Varied caseload including inpatient, outpatient, pediatrics, LTC, Home Care, Transitional Care Unit contracted visits.  Successful candidates must be able to multi-task within all areas of a rural hospital setting, highly organized and able to prioritize, detail oriented, able to work in a fast-paced progressive department, have basic computer, accounting, word processing, exceptional customer service and communication skills. Qualifications: Must have a BA/BS or Doctorate degree as a Physical Therapist from a college or university, Licensed in the state of Minnesota with the Medical Board of Examiners.CPR certified. New Grads are encouraged to apply.

Speech Language Pathologist – School Based

Mercy Hospital has a .8, (64 hrs per pay period) Speech Language Pathologist position available.  This position will be based in the Moose Lake School.  The position will also be working in the hospital during the summer months to cover vacations, PRN.


This person will provide services to K-12 in the school and as needed in the summer months (ie. Vacation relief) at the hospital for all patients.

Position will collaborate with teachers and parents, be knowledgeable to school processes.  Will be a partner in meeting student needs.  Will collaborate with student, caregiver and teachers to establish and provide treatment programs designed to meet individual needs. This person will evaluate all students referred to them covering a range of disorders. 

Will complete and maintain documentation according to MN Department of Education and MN Dept of Health. 

 They will establish and provide treatment programs designed to meet individual patient's needs and will maintain comprehensive patient documentation regarding evaluation, treatment programs, progress and discharge summary information. This person will provide treatment to all ages in the hospital, skilled nursing facility, outpatient and home care settings. This person will also use the following equipment; augmentative and alternative communication modes, Vital-Stim, Visi-pitch and Nasometer. 

Mercy provides opportunities for Continuing Education to become certified in specialized treatment.

Qualifications: This position will require a Master's degree (M. A.), (M. S.) in communication disorders; meet the educational requirements for certification and have completed the process of accumulating the supervised clinical experience required for certification by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association. Licensure from the Minnesota Department of Health and Licensed by the MN Board of Teaching. 

Prefer SLP with school based experience.  



Clinical Dietitian - 48 hours per pay period

Mercy Hospital has an opening for part-time day shift, Registered Dietitian. This person assesses nutritional needs by meeting with patients, chart review and consultation with health care team. Ensures in-patient nutritional needs are met in accordance with recognized dietary practices. Communicates and documents pertinent information regarding nutrition care and treatment plan in electronic medical records. May provide nutritional and diabetic education individually and in group settings as part of the Diabetes Team, works closely with the RN Diabetic Educator.  Advises inpatients, outpatients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation. Participates in department and hospital wide development and implementation of policies and procedures, and quality improvement program. Monitors quality improvement indicators. Participates in community health education events.

 Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Licensed Dietitian or Nutritionist with the state of Minnesota and Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. 

Schedule must be flexible. Computer experience in Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Records, and Meditech preferred.

Effectively works independently and with strong organizational skills. Provides strong clinical expertise and adheres to evidenced based guidelines. Has strong counseling and education skills. Follows all state and Federal guidelines regarding nutrition therapy. Works effectively with Food Service management as well as all other facility departments.

Surgical Technician - 2 openings

 Mercy Hospital has two opneings, both are part-time, a (.8) and a (.6) day, 8 hour shift with call rotation Surgical Technician position available in the Surgery Department. This person will assist the physician and surgical team before, during, and after surgery. Communicates with other OR staff to ensure the best interests of the patient are met.

Qualifications: Qualified applicants must be a graduate of a Surgical Technician program from college or technical school with 2-3 years of experience in a wide variety of Surgical Tech duties. Must have current CPR certification, BLS or able to obtain within 6 months of hire, be computer literate, and have exceptional oral and written communication skills. Must maintain confidentiality of patient's surgery. Closing Date: Until Filled 




Student Nutrition Assistant or Nutrition Assistant (2 openings)

Two positions are available for a casual Student Nutrition Assistant or casual Nutrition Assistant.  As the Nutrition Assistant (NA) you will ensure a high-level of patient satisfaction with regard to customer service, quality of food, accuracy of the menu as well as timeliness of tray delivery and pickup, among other services offered within the department. The NA works with therapeutic diet orders according to the physician prescribed diet.  This position performs clerical and computer duties in order to provide high-quality meal service to assigned patients.  This position also participates in providing customer service to catering customers as well as to the hospital café.  This position has varying shift times, and will fill in for other positions as needed.



Currently enrolled in high school or have high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least one (1) year food handling and customer service experience preferred.  Previous experience in a health care or clinical setting preferred. Must be detail oriented with excellent organization skills. High level of Customer Service is expected.  Must be courteous and tactful in dealing with customers and others at all times. Must have basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications. Must demonstrate knowledge of hospital therapeutic diet orders. Must have the ability to properly handle food based on ServSafe Guidelines.

Hospital RN – Part Time (.7)

 Mercy Hospital has a part-time (.7) opening for a 12 hour, rotating shift Med/Surg RN.  This position will work every third weekend, and will work in any department throughout the hospital (ICU, MS, OB, OR, ED, Infusion, and HC) as assigned.




Wellness Center Attendant - Casual

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a casual afternoon/evening/rotating, between 4 and 8 hour shifts, Wellness Center Attendant. The shifts will be mostly on Saturday and Sundays, noon-4pm (shifts may be up to 8 hours if needed) The Wellness Center Attendant is the first person our members will interact with.  You are expected to always present a professional, courteous, and friendly attitude.


You will be out in the fitness area interacting with members.  You will greet all members and maintain a healthy, positive relationship with them.  You will answer questions about general fitness, equipment operation, health/safety, membership and class questions (rates, class costs, etc.). 


The attendant has varied responsibilities as the host or hostess of the center; the membership management system, providing general orientation to the center for new members, billing and receiving payments, light cleaning of equipment/facility, data entry, answering a multiline telephone system and other duties.



Open to high school students, and High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous experience working as a fitness center attendant preferred.

CPR Required or obtained within 3 months of hire. Must be flexible, friendly, detail oriented with good communication, computer and organization skills.

Student Information Clerk - Casual

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a casual Student Information Clerk. This position would be responsible for switchboard duty and visitor information during afternoon/evening hours Monday – Friday as well as day and evening weekend shifts.


Qualifications: Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age and in High School. Must be extremely reliable, able to handle sums of money, have excellent customer service skills, communication skills, able to work independently. Microsoft, Excel, Internet and Email experience.

ED RN - Casual

Mercy Hospitals ED Department has a Casual, Rotating, 12 hour shift opening for an ED RN. This person will provide quality health care in a timely manner and will follow policies and procedures in efforts to meet community medical emergency needs.


Qualifications: Minimum of Associate's degree (A.A.) from two-year college, nursing diploma or graduate of four-year nursing program (B.A.) or BSN.  Must have computer skills with the ability to type 50 words per minute.  Must have current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota. Previous ED experience preferred.  RN & CEN desired.  Position would include future training to work in Med-Surg and other hospital areas of need.
