Surgical Technician - Full Time 

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a full time day, 8 hour shift with call rotation Surgical Technician position available in the Surgery Department. This person will assist the physician and surgical team before, during, and after surgery. Communicates with other OR staff to ensure the best interests of the patient are met.

Qualifications: Qualified applicants must be a graduate of a Surgical Technician program from college or technical school with 2-3 years of experience in a wide variety of Surgical Tech duties. Must have current CPR certification, BLS or able to obtain within 6 months of hire, be computer literate, and have exceptional oral and written communication skills. Must maintain confidentiality of patient's surgery.

Emergency Medical Technician, Basic - Casual (2 Positions) 

Mercy Hospital has immediate openings for 2 casual, (rotating) 12 hour shift EMT's with our ambulance service. Working as a member of emergency medical team, assesses and transports sick patients and administers medical treatments and interventions for injured persons according to established protocols and policies.

Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with certificate as an Emergency Medical Technician. One to three months of related experience. Emergency Medical Technician State and/or National Registry Certification, Driving course equivalent to Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC), Currently CPR Certified. Valid driver's license. Digital Communication via texting, phone, email with the Ambulance Coordinator.

Paramedic - Full-Time

Mercy Hospital has an immediate opening for a full-time Paramedic with our ambulance EMS department. This position requires three, 12-hour, shifts per week with every other weekend rotation. It is primarily a night (6pm to 6am) shift position, with the potential to be scheduled for a day shift. A minimum of one on-call shift is also required per month.

 

The primary responsibility of this position, while on duty, involves working as a member of our Emergency Medical team responding to 911 calls, assessing, transporting sick patients and administering medical treatment and intervention for injured persons according to established protocols and policies.

 

In addition to responding to 911 calls, the first four hours of the shift (6 pm to 10 pm) would involve duties assigned by the Ambulance Supervisor, and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. The next 8 hours of the shift (11 pm to 6 am) would involve working in the Emergency Department of the hospital, administering patient care, monitoring and treatment of Emergency Department patients, when assistance is needed.

Qualifications:  One year certificate from college or technical school; Preferred: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

NR EMT-P, ACLS, PALS, current Minnesota driver's license. With ITLS or PHTLS desired.

Paramedic - Casual (2 Openings)

Mercy Hospital has an immediate opening for two Paramedics (12 hour shift) with our ambulance EMS department. These positions will work as members of emergency medical teams, assess, transport sick patients and administer medical treatment and intervention for injured persons according to established protocols and policies. Will also work in the emergency department of the hospital, administer care and treatment of emergency department patients when assistance is needed. 

Qualifications: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MN State licensure as Paramedic, ACLS, PALS, current driver's license. With ITLS or PHTLS desired.

Home Care RN - Part-Time (.8)

Mercy Hospital has a part-time (.8) opening for an 8 hour (day) shift Home Care RN. This person will be responsible for providing skilled nursing, intervention, and supportive care in clients' homes under the direction of an RN Case Manager for weekdays, weekends, holidays and evenings in accordance with the Home Care Plan of care for each client.

Qualifications: Minimum of an Associate's degree (AA) from a two-year college, nursing diploma or graduate of a four year nursing program. Minimum two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Home Care experience preferred. Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota, have current CPR certification, valid MN driver's license and auto insurance.

CMA/LPN - Specialty Clinic - Casual

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a casual, day (8 hour shift) Certified Medical Assistant/LPN in its Specialty Clinic. The CMA/LPN supports providers in the delivery of patient care services at the specialty clinic.  Rooms patients, takes and records vitals signs and obtains medical history.  Assists provider in administering patient tests or providing treatment.  Cleans, organizes, and restocks examination rooms.  Under the direction of a provider, may give injections.  May also assist in x-ray, lab, or patient record keeping areas.  He/she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; have collaborative communication skills and treat staff, physicians, and families with consideration and respect.

Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program and certification, or a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  2-5 years experience preferred. Nursing License if LPN, BLS Certification or able to obtain within 6 months of hiring.  Computer skills required, Meditech preferred.

IT Student Intern - Part-Time (.4)

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a part-time, (.4), IT Student Intern. This is an 8 hour, day shift position. Hours vary based on work load.  As a student intern, an individual learns by participating in the daily functions of the MIS Department along with completing time consuming tasks otherwise difficult for the MIS staff to complete. Interns will research various departmental information in order to build department specific Intranet applications, and will also provide technical support on Microsoft office products for all facility approved users.

Qualifications: Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age, must possess knowledge of Windows based applications along with a basic understanding of computer information systems and accompanying hardware. This position requires excellent communication skills along with a level of maturity that allows the individual to be able to work independently or with little direction.

Speech Language Pathologist - Casual

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a casual, day, 8 hour shift, Speech Language Pathologist. This person will evaluate all patients referred regarding language, communication or swallowing disorders. They will establish and provide treatment programs designed to meet individual patient's needs and will maintain comprehensive patient documentation regarding evaluation, treatment programs, progress and discharge summary information. This person will provide treatment to all ages in the hospital, skilled nursing facility, outpatient and home care, and school settings. This person will also use the following equipment; Vital-Stim, Visi-pitch and Nasometer.

Qualifications: This position will require a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology; Licensure and working toward Certificate of Clinical Compliance from ASHA.  New graduates are welcome.

Admitting Clerk - Part-Time (.8)

Mercy Hospital has an immediate part-time .8 (8 hour Day, Afternoon/Evening, and Night shift) opening for an Admitting Clerk. This position may work any of the shifts listed above, depending on the needs of the facility, but will mostly work afternoon/evening shifts. This candidate will interview incoming patients or representatives, and enter information required for admission into computer system.

Qualifications: Successful candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to prioritize. Must have basic computer (MS Word, Internet, and Email), accounting, word processing and clerical skills. Exceptional customer service and communication skills are also required. Three to six months related experience is desired.

Student Information Clerk - Casual

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a casual Student Information Clerk. This (6 or 8 hour shift) position would be responsible for switchboard duty and visitor information during day/afternoon/evening hours Monday - Friday as well as day and evening weekend shifts.

Qualifications: Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age and in High School. Must be extremely reliable, able to handle sums of money, have excellent customer service skills, communication skills, able to work independently. Microsoft, Excel, Internet and Email experience.
