Physical Therapist, Rehab Mercy Hospital is a not-for-profit hospital and is currently looking a Full Time Physical Therapist with experience or brand new graduates. The Physical Therapist plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Varied caseload including inpatient, outpatient, pediatrics, LTC, Home Care, Transitional Care Unit contracted visits.  Successful candidates must be able to multi-task within all areas of a rural hospital setting, highly organized and able to prioritize, detail oriented, able to work in a fast-paced progressive department, have basic computer, accounting, word processing, exceptional customer service and communication skills. Speech Language Pathologist

Mercy Hospital has one opening for a (.6) day, 8 hour shift Speech Language Pathologist. This person will evaluate all patients referred regarding language, communication or swallowing disorders. They will establish and provide treatment programs designed to meet individual patient's needs and will maintain comprehensive patient documentation regarding evaluation, treatment programs, progress and discharge summary information. This person will provide treatment to all ages in the hospital, skilled nursing facility, outpatient and home care settings. This person will also use the following equipment; Vital-Stim, Visi-pitch and Nasometer. Mercy provides opportunities for Continuing Education to become certified in specialized treatment.

 

Qualifications: This position will require a Master's degree (M. A.), (M. S.) in communication disorders; meet the educational requirements for certification and have completed the process of accumulating the supervised clinical experience required for certification by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association. Licensure from the Minnesota Department of Health and Licensure from the Minnesota Department of Education is required. Clinical Fellowship Candidates will be considered, and new graduates welcome. Surgical Technician, OR

Mercy Hospital has one part-time (.6) day, 8 hour shift with call rotation Surgical Technician position available in the Surgery Department. This person will assist the physician and surgical team before, during, and after surgery. Communicates with other OR staff to ensure the best interests of the patient are met.

Qualifications: Qualified applicants must be a graduate of a Surgical Technician program from college or technical school with 2-3 years of experience in a wide variety of Surgical Tech duties. Must have current CPR certification, BLS or able to obtain within 6 months of hire, be computer literate, and have exceptional oral and written communication skills. Must maintain confidentiality of patient's surgery.

Chemotherapy/Infusion RN

 

Mercy Hospital has a Part-Time, regular, .4 (8 hour shift) Infusion/Chemotherapy RN opening. This person is responsible for overseeing and administering chemotherapy treatments for patients receiving chemo therapy and providing both support and education for patients and families.

 

The Chemotherapy Infusion RN: Reviews physician orders for chemotherapy/infusion, verifying protocol, drug, dose, frequency, pre- and post medications, and lab tests. Schedules chemotherapy and infusion treatments for patients according to physician order(s). Coordinates and schedules lab and diagnostic, tests ordered by physician. Instructs chemotherapy and infusion patients on drugs, side-effects and interventions to manage chemo/drug-related symptoms. Assesses chemotherapy and infusion patients prior, during and after treatments for response to treatment, side-effects and complications. Responds to medical or emotional crisis during chemotherapy and infusion treatments and communicates to physician any adverse reactions or concerns. Follows proper protocols and procedures for handling toxic substances and universal precautions to assure safety for the patient, family and nurse. The chemotherapy nurse must have IV skills, psychosocial skills and the ability to decipher orders. Demonstrates familiarity with Policies and Procedures of Chemotherapy Department and Mercy Hospital. 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum of Associate's degree (A.A.) from two-year college, nursing diploma or graduated of four-year nursing program.  Two Years related experience and/or training. Closing Date: 6/6/2016

Med/Surg/OB RN, Med/Surg

Mercy Hospital has two casual openings for 12 hour rotating (Day, Afternoon/Evenings, Nights) shift RN in the Med/Surg/OB Department. This position is based in Med/Surg/ICU but will be cross trained to OB for labor and delivery specialty with opportunities to cross train to OR and ED in the future depending on experience.

Med/Surg responsibilities include planning, coordinating and implementing patient care specific to the age of the patient population served.  He/she ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the standards of care.  He/she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect. Participates in performance improvement activities including drills.

OB responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care of the patients in Labor & Delivery and immediate Neonatal and Postpartum Period.  Communicates with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition including:  fetal monitoring and results of diagnostic studies.  Ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the standards of care.  Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.  Participates in performance improvement activities including drills.

Qualifications: Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited RN program and currently be licensed in Minnesota. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or four year degree in Nursing. Must have current BLS, ACLS, NRP and CPS Technician or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire.  Experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Clinical Dietician

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a casual day shift, Registered Dietitian. This person assesses nutritional needs by meeting with patients, chart review and consultation with health care team. Ensures in-patient nutritional needs are met in accordance with recognized dietary practices. Communicates and documents pertinent information regarding nutrition care and treatment plan in electronic medical records. May provide nutritional and diabetic education individually and in group settings as part of the Diabetes Team. Advises inpatients, outpatients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation. Participates in department and hospital wide development and implementation of policies and procedures, and quality improvement program. Monitors quality improvement indicators. Participates in community health education events.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Licensed Dietitian or Nutritionist with the state of Minnesota and Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. 

Schedule must be flexible. Computer experience in Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Records, and Meditech preferred.

Effectively works independently and with strong organizational skills. Provides strong clinical expertise and adheres to evidenced based guidelines. Has strong counseling and education skills. Follows all state and Federal guidelines regarding nutrition therapy. Works effectively with Food Service management as well as all other facility departments.

Hospital RN

Mercy Hospital has a part-time (.7) opening for a 12 hour, rotating shift Med/Surg RN with every third weekend required. This position will be based in Med-Surg, but will work in MS-ICU/OB/ED/OR/HC as assigned. 

The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served. They ensure that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the standards of care. They demonstrate performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect. Participates in performance improvement activities including drills. Any Float Nurses that apply will also remain as such.

Social Worker

Mercy Hospital has a full time Social Worker position available in our facility. This position will counsel and aide individuals and families requiring assistance of social services in accordance with accepted social work practice and Mercy Hospital policies and procedures. 

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Social Work, hold a valid license as a Licensed Social Worker through the Minnesota Board of Social Work, have knowledge of social service provisions in Long Term Care and have three years related service experience.  Long Term Care Social Work post-graduate experience preferred and must have excellent communication skills. Closing Date: 5/30/16

Education Manager

Mercy Hospital has an opening for an Education Manager. This is a part time, 64 hours per pay period position. The education mamanger plans, develops, coordinates and directs educational program for the employees of the hospital.  Works closely with Human Resources Director and other managers to develop new program offerings, and that needs for employee education are being met.  Ensures the on-boarding process (new employee orientation, etc) is successful.  Develops, oversees yearly mandated educational topics for all employees, updates and coordinates thru the online learning system. Part of organizational committees such as safe patient handling, employee safety committee, safe patient culture, wellness committee.  Teaches classes on various topics as needed (ie. customer service).

Plans, coordinates, appropriate education for community focused programs.

Supervises employees in the Education department.

Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited 4 year degree program. 1-3 years education experience, exceptional creativity and communication skills, ability to work independently, proven ability in program development, ability to interact with large groups of people, and flexible availability.  Closing Date: Until Filled
