Physical Therapist, Rehab Mercy Hospital is a not-for-profit hospital and is currently looking a Full Time Physical Therapist with experience or brand new graduates. The Physical Therapist plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Varied caseload including inpatient, outpatient, pediatrics, LTC, Home Care, Transitional Care Unit contracted visits.  Successful candidates must be able to multi-task within all areas of a rural hospital setting, highly organized and able to prioritize, detail oriented, able to work in a fast-paced progressive department, have basic computer, accounting, word processing, exceptional customer service and communication skills. Qualifications: Must have a BA/BS or Doctorate degree as a Physical Therapist from a college or university, Licensed in the state of Minnesota with the Medical Board of Examiners.CPR certified. New Grads are encouraged to apply.

Clinical Dietitian

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a casual day shift, Registered Dietitian. This person assesses nutritional needs by meeting with patients, chart review and consultation with health care team. Ensures in-patient nutritional needs are met in accordance with recognized dietary practices. Communicates and documents pertinent information regarding nutrition care and treatment plan in electronic medical records. May provide nutritional and diabetic education individually and in group settings as part of the Diabetes Team. Advises inpatients, outpatients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation. Participates in department and hospital wide development and implementation of policies and procedures, and quality improvement program. Monitors quality improvement indicators. Participates in community health education events.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Licensed Dietitian or Nutritionist with the state of Minnesota and Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. 

Schedule must be flexible. Computer experience in Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Records, and Meditech preferred.

Effectively works independently and with strong organizational skills. Provides strong clinical expertise and adheres to evidenced based guidelines. Has strong counseling and education skills. Follows all state and Federal guidelines regarding nutrition therapy. Works effectively with Food Service management as well as all other facility departments.

Casual Ambulance EMT

Mercy Hospital has immediate openings for casual, (rotating) 12 hour shift EMT-Bs with our ambulance service.  Working as a member of emergency medical team, assesses and transports sick patients and administers medical treatments and interventions for injured persons according to established protocols and policies.

 

Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with certificate as an Emergency Medical Technician. One to three months of related experience.

Emergency Medical Technician State and/or National Registry Certification

Driving course equivalent to Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC)

IT Intern

 

Mercy Hospital has an opening for an IT Student Intern. As a student intern, an individual learns by participating in the daily functions of the MIS Department along with completing time consuming tasks otherwise difficult for the MIS staff to complete.  Interns will research various departmental information in order to build department specific Intranet applications, and will also provide technical support on Microsoft office products for all facility approved users. Qualifications:

Candidates must still attend high school or college in 2016-2017, be a minimum of 16 years of age, must possess knowledge of Windows based applications along with a basic understanding of computer information systems and accompanying hardware. Nutrition Assistant

 

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a Casual, rotating shift Nutrition Assistant. Under the direction of the Kitchen Supervisor, the Nutrition Assistant will interview and assist patients with meal selections and will deliver patient meals directly to the patients on the nursing units.  In addition this position will portion food in accordance with regulations, use standardized recipes, clean food preparation areas, tray line, pots and pans, equipment (must be able to use all equipment in kitchen, includes ovens, mixers, steamers, slicer, dishwasher,  steam jacketed kettle, and blenders). Maintain pot and sink area, work on patient tray assembly, employee cafeteria and special functions.  Must be able to work in a cook capacity and be able to cross train into all dietary positions.

 

Qualifications: Applicants must be a minimum 18 years old, High School Diploma or GED. 1-3 months related experience preferred with the ability to read, write, understand and follow written and oral instructions.  Must be available to work scheduled shifts and call availability. Hospital RN Part Time (.7)

 

Mercy Hospital has a part-time (.7) opening for a 12 hour, rotating shift Hospital RN. This position will work every third weekend in the ED and will work in any department throughout the hospital (ICU, MS, OB, OR, ED, Infusion, and HC) as assigned.The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served. They ensure that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the standards of care. They demonstrate performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect. Participates in performance improvement activities including drills. Any Float Nurses that apply will also remain as such.

 

Qualifications:

RN applicants must be a graduate of an accredited RN program and currently be licensed in Minnesota. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or four year degree in Nursing. Three to five years emergency room experience and/or training preferred.  Current completion of CPR training, ACLS, CALS, NRP, and PALS certifications or must obtain within one year of hire. Other qualified certifications include but are not required: TNCC, ENPC, or CEN.  This position may be utilized for Critical Care Transports on the Ambulance if no paramedic is available. Flexibility is desirable. If on call, must be able to respond within 30 minutes. Closing Date: July 20, 2016

 Part Time Certified Nursing Assistant (.8)

Mercy Hospital has an opening in its Surgery Department for a Part-Time (.8) CNA. This is an 8 hour day shift position. This position is responsible for care of patients in the Surgical Department or other medical departments, under direction of the nursing and medical staff.  This person will also be scheduled varying 8 hour shifts. Cross trained to perform the duties of the surgery secretary / scheduler by scheduling surgical cases and clinic patients for specialists.  This position participates in team activities, quality improvement programs and performance improvement activities including drills.

 

Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful completion of 84 hour Nursing Assistant course and listing on MN Registry for Nursing Assistants. 12 hours applicable education annually required. BLS certification required. Experience with computer programs such as Meditech, Excel, EMR &PCS, E-clinical works.  Strong/efficient typing skills, fielding phone calls to appropriate personnel, proper phone etiquette, positive customer service, strives to diffuse conflicts directly, respectful to others.
