Speech Language Pathologist, Rehab
Mercy Hospital has one opening for a Part Time (.8) day/ 8 hour shift Speech Therapist. This person will evaluate all patients referred regarding language, communication or swallowing disorders. They will establish and provide treatment programs designed to meet individual patient's needs and will maintain comprehensive patient documentation regarding evaluation, treatment programs, progress and discharge summary information. This person will provide treatment to all ages in the hospital, skilled nursing facility, outpatient and home care settings. This person will also use the following equipment; Vital-Stim, Visi-pitch and Nasometer. Mercy provides opportunities for Continuing Education to become certified in specialized treatment.
Qualifications: This position will require a Master's degree (M. A.), (M. S.) in communication disorders; meet the educational requirements for certification and have completed the process of accumulating the supervised clinical experience required for certification by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association. Licensure from the Minnesota Department of Health and Licensure from the Minnesota Department of Education is required. Clinical Fellowship Candidates will be considered. Closing Date: Until Filled
EMT-B or Paramedics, Ambulance
Mercy Hospital has immediate (up to 3) casual (Rotating) 12 hour shift openings for EMT-Bs or Paramedics with our ambulance service. Working as a member of emergency medical team, you will assess and transport sick patients and administer medical treatments and interventions for injured persons according to established protocols and policies.
EMT-B Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with certificate as an Emergency Medical Technician. One to three months of related experience. Emergency Medical Technician State and/or National Registry Certification,
Driving course equivalent to Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC),
Current CPR Certified and a current valid driver’s license.
Paramedic Qualifications: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MN State licensure as a Paramedic. ACLS and PALS certification. Current valid driver's license. ITLS or PHTLS desired.

Mercy Hospital has an immediate opening for a casual, 12 hour, rotating (day/night) shift Health Unit Coordinator in the Med/Surg Department. The Health Unit Coordinator provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the health care team. These duties include interviewing incoming patients or representatives and entering information required for admission into the computer, making special arrangements to meet patient’s needs, scheduling tests according to physician and nursing orders, monitoring and ordering supplies, and transcribing orders to patient’s electronic medical record. The HUC communicates effectively via a variety of modalities (telephone, electronic, and in person) with patients, visitors, and facility staff and plays an integral role in communication across the continuum of care. Most of the duties are preformed under the supervision of the Charge Nurse.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Certificate Medical Secretary Program or Office Management Program; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification as a Health Unit Coordinator (CHUC) preferred. Notary License.
Medical Terminology knowledge. Admitting experience helpful. Must have computer skills, Meditech experience preferred. Ability to prioritize work independently.

Student Dishwasher, Dietary
Mercy Hospital has one casual, afternoon/evening, 3.5 hour shift Dietary Student Dishwasher position open. Under the direction of the Dietary Manager this student dishwasher position cleans pots & pans, operates and maintains dish machine and dish room equipment. Works on patient/resident tray line and also performs duties that contribute to the goals of the Dietary Department.
