Employee Health/Infection Prevention Coordinator – Part-Time (.8)

Mercy Hospital has an immediate opening for a .8 Employee Health/Infection Prevention Coordinator. This position is an 8 hour day shift.  Coordinates and manages the occupational health care needs of employees.  Provides health screening to employees, establishes and provides health service programs; coordinates pre-employment and any necessary health screenings; assists with planning, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic protocols for management of common acute problems and chronic stable conditions; assist in determination of employee's ability to return to work or continue work.

Directs activities of facility Infection Prevention Control program. Responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention and control of healthcare associated infections (HAIs) among patients and personnel.  Monitors and analyzes infection problems; advises and educates staff members, physicians and community on control of infection and related topics; directs establishment and review of infection control policies and procedures to be followed by departments in providing safe patient care. 

As coordinator, this position acts as an authority to identify infection control issues and has the ability to implement corrective actions.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. RN preferred.  If RN, must possess current MN license.  Completion of training program for infection prevention, or within six months of hire.  Certification in infection prevention (APIC) or obtained within three years.  Must complete CEU’s in field of Infection Prevention/Employee Health.  Must know rules and regulations for infection prevention.  Flexible work schedule required.  Must be able to prioritize projects, and have excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Surgical Technician - Part Time (.6)

 Mercy Hospital has an opening for a part-time (.6) day, 8 hour shift with call rotation Surgical Technician position available in the Surgery Department. This person will assist the physician and surgical team before, during, and after surgery. Communicates with other OR staff to ensure the best interests of the patient are met.

Qualifications: Qualified applicants must be a graduate of a Surgical Technician program from college or technical school with 2-3 years of experience in a wide variety of Surgical Tech duties. Must have current CPR certification, BLS or able to obtain within 6 months of hire, be computer literate, and have exceptional oral and written communication skills. Must maintain confidentiality of patient's surgery. Closing Date: Until Filled

Pharmacist – Part-Time (.8)

 

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a part-time .8 Pharmacist. This is an 8-hour day shift position.  This position will compound and dispense prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care, and safely provide medications and information to the facility and the public.  The pharmacist oversees the operation of the pharmacy department in the absence of the pharmacy manager/PIC.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from a 5-year college or university or Pharm D Degree from a college or university.  Registered Pharmacist, or obtain by August of 2017.  Computer skills to include; Meditech MS Word, Excel. Prefer Omnicell and Sterile IV Prep experience.

Clinical Dietitian, Diabetes Ed Coordinator- Full time

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a full time Clinical Dietitian, Diabetes Ed Coordinator.  Participates in the clinical and educational food service operations for Mercy Hospital.  Conducts educational programs for the Hospital regarding Diabetes Management.

Qualifications: Registration with The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, Licensed with the State of Minnesota.  Hold current CDE (certified diabetes eduator) certificate, or able to obtain within a reasonable time frame.

Respiratory Therapist - Casual

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a casual Respiratory Therapist in the Cardiopulmonary Services Department. This is an 8 hour, day shift position. The Respiratory Therapist evaluates and treats patients according to physician’s orders.  The RT performs outpatient procedures along with inpatient treatments and procedures.

 

Qualifications: Current licensure in State of Minnesota as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Registered Respiratory Therapist degree from 2 or 4 year college, 4-year preferred. Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served. Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients’ rights in the delivery of care.  Demonstrates leadership abilities; able to work under stressful situations. Possesses good oral and written communication skills.   Meditech knowledge desired.

BLS, ACLS, NRP, CALS

Occupational Therapist Registered/Licensed OR Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Casual

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a Casual (day shift) OT or COTA in the Rehab Dept.

 

OT

This position will provide quality occupational therapy services to include assessment, intervention, program planning and implementation, discharge planning, communication and documentation.

 

Qualifications:

Qualified individuals will have obtained a Masters or Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university as an Occupational Therapist. Candidate must demonstrate computer skills, have exceptional oral and written communication skills along with possessing strong spelling and grammar skills.  Must have strong organizational skills, be able to prioritize and work independently. Must possess Certification with the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy; hold current Registration and Licensure with the Minnesota Department of Health, and a valid driver’s license. New Grads are encouraged to apply.

 

COTA

Under the direction of the rehab Director or OTR implements prescribed treatment and assist OTR as necessary to support the established objectives of the department and contribute to meeting the goals of Mercy Hospital. 

 

Qualifications:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and three months to one year related experience and/or training preferred. Candidate must demonstrate computer skills, have exceptional oral and written communication skills along with possessing strong spelling and grammar skills.  Must have strong organizational skills, be able to prioritize and work independently. Certification by NBCOT. Licensed in the State of Minnesota.  New Grads are encouraged to apply.

Paramedic - Casual (2 Openings)

Mercy Hospital has an immediate opening for two Paramedics (12 hour shift) with our ambulance EMS department. These positions will work as members of emergency medical teams, assess, transport sick patients and administer medical treatment and intervention for injured persons according to established protocols and policies. Will also work in the emergency department of the hospital, administer care and treatment of emergency department patients when assistance is needed. 

 

Qualifications: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

MN State licensure as Paramedic, ACLS, PALS, current driver's license. With ITLS or PHTLS desired.

This position may work any of the shifts listed above depending on the needs of the facility, but will be mostly afternoon/evening shifts. This candidate will interview incoming patients or representatives and enter information required for admission into computer system.

 

Qualifications:

Successful candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be highly organized and able to prioritize, detail oriented, have basic computer (MS Word, Internet, and Email) skills, accounting, word processing and clerical skills with exceptional customer service and communication skills.  Three to six months related experience is desired.
