Physical Therapist, Rehab

Mercy Hospital is a not-for-profit hospital and is currently looking for a Full Time Physical Therapist with experience or interest in pediatrics. The Physical Therapist plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Varied caseload including inpatient, outpatient, LTC, Home Care, Transitional Care Unit contracted visits, and clinic work.  Successful candidates must be able to multi-task within all areas of a rural hospital setting, highly organized and able to prioritize, detail oriented, able to work in a fast-paced progressive department, have basic computer, accounting, word processing, exceptional customer service and communication skills.

RN, ER

Mercy Hospitals ER/UC Department has up to two Casual, Rotating, 12 hour shift openings for an ER RN. This person will provide quality health care in a timely manner and will follow policies and procedures in efforts to meet community medical emergency needs.

Qualifications: Minimum of Associate's degree (A.A.) from two-year college, nursing diploma or graduated of four-year nursing program (B.A.) or BSN.  Minimum of five years emergency room experience and/or training.EDM (emergency department module) computer charting experience preferred. Must have computer skills with the ability to type 50 words per minute. Meditech. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota. Current completion of BLS training, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP and CALS certifications or must obtain within one year of hire. Other departmental skills: biPap, Heli-Ox, Bladder Scanner, EKG Machine and ZOLL.Flexibility is desirable, must be able to be included in a call schedule with a 30 minute response time. LPNs or RNs, Hospital

Mercy Hospital has up to three casual openings for a 12 hour rotating shift RN or a 12 hour rotating shift LPN in the Med/Surg Department. This position will be every other weekend and will also float between OB/OR/ER.

 

The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served.  He/she ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the standards of care.  He/she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.  Participates in performance improvement activities including drills.

Qualifications:

RN applicants must be a graduate of an accredited RN program and currently be licensed in Minnesota. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or four year degree in Nursing.

Must have current BLS or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire.  Experience in an acute care setting preferred.

 

LPN applicants must have a two year certificate from college or technical school in nursing; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. HUC, Hospital

Mercy Hospital has an immediate opening for a casual, 12 hour, rotating shift Health Unit Coordinator in the Med/Surg Department. The Health Unit Coordinator provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the health care team.  These duties include interviewing incoming patients or representatives and entering information required for admission into the computer, making special arrangements to meet patient’s needs, scheduling tests according to physician and nursing orders, monitoring and ordering supplies, and transcribing orders to patient’s electronic medical record. The HUC communicates effectively via a variety of modalities (telephone, electronic, and in person) with patients, visitors, and facility staff and plays an integral role in communication across the continuum of care.  Most of the duties are preformed under the supervision of the Charge Nurse. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Certificate Medical Secretary Program or Office Management Program; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification as a Health Unit Coordinator (CHUC) preferred. Notary License.Medical Terminology knowledge. Admitting experience helpful. Must have computer skills, Meditech experience preferred. Admitting Clerk, Registration

Mercy Hospital has an immediate .6(8 hour Day, Afternoon/Evening) shift opening for an Admitting Clerk. This candidate will interview incoming patients or representatives and enter information required for admission into computer system. Qualifications: Successful candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be highly organized and able to prioritize, detail oriented, have basic computer (MS Word, Internet, and Email), accounting, word processing and clerical skills with exceptional customer service and communication skills. One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

RNs, OB

Mercy Hospital has an opening for up to three rotating12 hour shift casual RNs in the OB Department. The Registered Nurse performs a wide range of duties to include:  Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care of the patients in Labor & Delivery and immediate Neonatal and Postpartum Period.  Communicates with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition including:  fetal monitoring and results of diagnostic studies.  Ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the standards of care.  Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.  Participates in performance improvement activities including drills.

Qualifications: Associate’s degree (A.A.) in Nursing or equivalent from two-year college; &/or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Have current MN licensure, and have scheduling flexibility with the ability to be included on a call schedule.

Paramedic, Ambulance

Mercy Hospital has immediate openings for an EMT-Paramedic (12 hour shift) with our ambulance EMS department. This position will be working as a member of emergency medical team, assesses, transports sick patients and administers medical treatment and interventions for injured persons according to established protocols and policies. Will also work in the emergency department of the hospital, administers care and treatment of emergency department patients when assistance is needed. 

Qualifications: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.MN State licensure as Paramedic, ACLS, PALS, current driver's license.
