Our Mission

The mission of The Mercy Foundation is to inspire giving that supports Mercy Hospital’s ability to respond to the changing healthcare needs of our community.

Our Vision

We envision a community where every person gets the care they need in an environment that is warm, welcoming, and built upon a foundation of neighbors helping neighbors in support of Mercy Hospital.

Our Organization

Mercy Hospital serves nearly 12,000 households in the Moose Lake Community Hospital District, a geographic area that covers all of northern Pine and southern Carlton counties.

The Mercy Foundation is an exempt organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our tax ID number is 41-1956174. Gifts made to The Mercy Foundation are tax deductible.

As The Mercy Foundation grows, so does its ability to make significant financial gifts and purchases for Mercy Hospital. Here’s an example of some of the good things many good people made possible:

The purchase of equipment and technologies that improve the quality of patient care and the safety of Mercy staff, such as the hydraulic-powered patient lift for Mercy’s ambulance, an automated wheel-chair washer, ceiling mounted lift systems and updated specialty equipment for Mercy’s Emergency Department.

Underwriting the training and equipment expenses associated with the creation of a new Incontinence Program and Venous Edema Program through the Physical Therapy Department as well as the expansion of Mercy’s Multidisciplinary Diabetes Education Program.

The purchase of furnishings and artwork for many areas throughout the facility: the Chemotherapy/Infusion Department, The Birthing Center, Mercy’s Education Center, the Diagnostic Imaging Department and The Surgical Center.

Establishing The Mercy Foundation Scholarships at Barnum, Cromwell, Moose Lake, and Willow River High Schools for students pursuing further education in any of the allied health fields ($1,000 per school per year).
